Husmer Talks Franchising with Business Radio X
“The franchisees are happy!”
-Reid Husmer
Reid Husmer visits his past on the Business Radio X Podcast with Stone Payton and Lee Kantor as he illustrates the point when he realized the abundance of stuff he'd accumulated over the years had to go. How it went became the business model for his thriving franchise today!
When Husmer started packing for a move 11 years ago he realized he needed to downsize. While he contemplated tossing everything into the nearest dumpster he was overwhelmed with guilt about the environmental implications that could have.
He frantically scoured the phone books for a company that would remove his junk for a good cause. There were a few options with strict guidelines. Goodwill only took clothing, Operation Paperback only took books, and Car Talk only took cars.
He had it! If only there was a company that took everything back to a warehouse to sort it for appropriate donation facilities, he thought, then, everything would be truly gone for good.
A decade later, Husmer was paving the way to welcome new franchisees into the Gone for Good model. Franchising gave Reid the power to share the growth while guiding and mentoring franchisees.
